In January 2006, NeoNexus started doing basic web design. Over the past several years, most of the web design services have been coming from part-time and 1-2 man companies who were not delivering the quality and service that the market is starting to demand. These small companies were lacking in resources as well as business knowledge, creating inconsistent quality and under pricing the work. NeoNexus saw an opportunity to position ourselves to deliver greater value and at the same time increase margins. In addition, we were realizing that maybe 1 in 15 web design projects could be up-sold into more sophisticated web data management services, where margins are higher.

Employing this new model, NeoNexus developed a marketable, profitable system. We keep costs competitive by outsourcing the graphic design and programming services, so our overhead is low between projects. We also leverage open source software, which saves the customer the cost of software license fees. Concurrently, we keep the level of customer service high by employing the sales/customer service personnel for all customer communications and utlitzing a web based project management system. Our three pronged strategy is

• keeping costs fair to the average consumer
• using specialists instead of generalists
• keeping the customer informed with a state of the art project management system

In particular, NeoNexus has implemented a sophisticated search engine optimization (SEO) program to assist our clients. This market is severely fragmented with competitors that provide fraudulent or unreasonable claims. There are also many SEO companies that have not kept up with changes of Google and Yahoo. These SEO companies think they are helping the client, but their methods are outdated and no longer work. With our excellent name and track record, we have found that this niche is very profitable for both us and the client. We rely on provided methods of SEO, and our results are consistent with our goals. Because true SEO is a continuous program, it provides NeoNexus with a continuing income stream.

NeoNexus has implemented web design/SEO business system in two cities using a traditional business model: Charleston, WV and Wilmington, NC. We are now providing the system, via a licensing agreement, which will allow our partners to expand to other cities. This will enhance the operation of graphic designers, programmers, web consultants, and other related internet web companies without them having to hire all the different skills.
