We Are Getting a Facelift!

We have finally decided on getting a new facelift/design for our website. As you can see on some of our pages, it says, “Coming soon” for content. Let’s just say it is verrryy difficult to get everyone to agree on one design (mostly girls vs. guys), but we did it! We are getting it integrated as we speak, so you will see some transformations.

We have also gotten our customer list updated and some new employee pictures up, so please enjoy!

We spend so much time focusing on our customer’s needs with their web marketing, programming, website design, etc. that is hard to focus on ours and take the time to do it. We are HIGHLY built on customer satisfaction.

So, if we are designing websites, shouldn’t ours look Fabulous? ….. That is what I was thinking, of course.

So, just keep in mind customers, prospects, and fans that we are “undergoing construction” as many websites may say haha. Can’t wait to see what you all think about it when it is done!

Emailing Web Marketing Blasts

We are also sending out weekly newsletters about some key topics and helpful hints for web marketing. If this is something that may interest you and you want to be on the list for free, please contact via Megan Yaroch or Matt Trostle. This helpful information will hopefully get you more traffic to your website = more business!

You got your site up now you need to start planning your content. If you think you can disregard your content, your website will be nothing more than a digital brochure. You spent a lot of time and money in getting your site up and running, so why not make it work for you?

Content is absolutely the biggest asset of your website. Not only does good content drive visitors to your site through organic search engine traffic, it is a sales tool and relationship builder too.

You need to determine if this is a main page or an informational blog post. The two are similar but their contents are different. If you are developing a main website page, you’re going to want to focus on the benefits of your products or services. Remember WIIFM “What’s In It For Me?”

Coming Up With A Topic

Believe it or not, the easy part is actually coming up with a topic. All you need to do is check out what your competitors are writing about. Now, don’t copy them, but reading competitors’ websites and industry news will give you an idea of what information your readers are hungry for.

Now that you have a topic, lets create a simple bulleted outline or mindmap of your topic. This helps break it down a little bit and creates a well rounded article.

It could look something like this:

Topic: The History of Jellybeans

When did they start?

Who invented them?

Surprising facts about the changing ingredients

The future of jelly beans

Conclusion

Now writing your article doesn’t seem like such a daunting task. You simply write a paragraph or two about each bullet point and you’ve easily got a 300-500 word article!

Driving Traffic With Your Content

Once you have your topic and your outline, I always recommend having a keyword in mind when developing your content. This is especially important with the main pages of your website. Maybe not as important with blog posts, or at least every blog post, but always keep keywords in mind when writing your content.

There are 4 main areas you want to include the keywords in your content:

The Title

The heading tags (H1, H2, etc.)

The content

The URL (www.example.com/your-keyword-here/)

One thing to keep in mind is not to overload your content with your keywords. Search engines are much better at spotting spammy pages and will ding you if your not careful.

Besides, your human readers won’t think very highly of your business if your content just keeps repeating itself. A good rule of thumb is write for humans but understand the search engines.

Start looking at your content as part of you marketing plan. Each new blog post, video, or even Tweet adds to your overall content picture and each piece of content adds one more “hook” in the vast sea of the internet. Each one of these “hooks” present another opportunity for visitors to find you – and not your competition.

Don’t have time to create your own content? No problem! We understand the challenges of small business and not having enough time is a very common complaint. We have professional writers on staff that can help you create search engine optimized, traffic pulling content!

Contact Matt Trostle for more information or to get started right away!

Wilmington, NC – October 1, 2009 -

Since its inception, Atlantic Car Care has been a full service auto repair and maintenance shop focusing on customer service in the Wilmington area, but they have recently taken their service to the next level with the launch of their website, www.atlanticcarcare.com. Atlantic Car Care teamed up with NeoNexus Corporation to design and power their new website, which focuses on the ownership’s unique story, product and service dependability and above all else, a trusted and convenient atmosphere for Wilmington’s vehicular needs.

Drivers who haven’t had a chance to meet the friendly and family-oriented team at Atlantic Car Care will now have a new way to get to know them; and their reputation. The new website has a page specifically dedicated to customer testimonials. These stories reflect Atlantic Car Care’s mission to provide dedicated, professional and honest service. They have also implemented a blog for Atlantic Car Care team to keep in contact with their customers and let them know of upcoming events and specials. This is just one more way that Atlantic Car Care is able to stand by their reputation.

NeoNexus was able to incorporate an interactive online car service called “My Car,” which allows a customer to log in to the website and see the progress of their car, if it is being worked on. They can also check the history of their service, schedule appointments, and get email reminders about upcoming coupons and specials. When starting design of this website, Atlantic Car Care owner Mike Moore mentioned that he wanted to focus on having a website that was easy to navigate, reflected his unique story and focus on dedicated car service and repair, as well as to have something unique. This desire brought the team at NeoNexus to develop “My Car.”

With the addition of www.atlanticcarcare.com, the service that Atlantic Car Care provides to their customers has now been expanded to include online interactive tools, helping to bring service directly into the customer’s home. NeoNexus Account Manager, Autumn Stover had the wonderful pleasure of working with them on this project and NeoNexus highly recommends their services.

Wilmington, NC – The Wilmington Junior Golf Academy has a new look on the internet, thanks to the community-oriented website programmers at NeoNexus Corporation and the web designers at Ethos Studios. The two web companies worked in collaboration to design, program, and power the non-profit organization’s website completely pro bono. The two web companies partnered on this site with the hopes of bringing the positive message that the Wilmington Junior Golf Academy teaches their students, to a greater audience via the internet.

The Wilmington Junior Golf Academy was incorporated in 2008 and exists for the purposes of assisting junior golfers in maximizing their educational opportunities and enhancing their golf skills. They do not simply teach young people how to golf though; the organization was developed with the core value system to try and educate young people in the values of life. Their goal is to make these youths become more grounded, more productive, and to inspire them to follow their dreams.

Upon completion of the Wilmington Junior Golf Academy’s website, NeoNexus Project Manager, Shawn Matthews commented that the staff at NeoNexus Corporation have all enjoyed working to help the community through their web design so much that they will soon be joining forces with Ethos and the WJGA to design a sister site.

The non-profit, WJGA organization partners with community youth groups like the Brigade Boys and Girls Clubs of New Hanover and Pender Counties, the Community Boys and Girls Club, the Wilmington Prep Academy, Community In Schools – The Wire Program, the Martin Luther King Center, GIRLS Inc. and Dolphin Aquatics and Fitness to bring their golfing program to the youth members in these centers. Classes are offered during the summer months in the morning hours and in the afternoons during the school year. For a complete listing of the Wilmington Junior Golf Academy’s programs and locations, or to find out how you can become a sponsor, please visit their website at www.wilmingtonjuniorgolfacademy.com or call (910) 622-5253.

Wilmington, NC – July 19, 2009 – Commercial Realty has just gotten a well deserved edge over their competition in the commercial real estate industry. Since 1972, the company has been involved in the sales and leasing of all types of commercial, industrial and investment properties. Now with the launch of their new website, www.commercialrealtyco.com; they have just gained the upper hand over their competition in Southeastern North Carolina. The website features a blogging tool which will send out notifications to their social network whenever a new property is listed on their site. Consumers will be able to have the most up to date listings sent to them literally, within minutes. This unique tool also has the ability to make these properties searchable within the site, so that the searcher can easily access all properties with similar characteristics, without having to fill out an MLS form.

In addition to this, the website boasts full descriptions of land and properties for sale, as well as live maps courtesy of yahoo local maps, directions to the properties and drawings of potential buildings that can be developed on the land by their sister company Commercial Building and Development.

Commercial Realty has always been a strong competitor in the Commercial Real Estate industry through the use of their partnering companies, Commercial Building and Development and Harbor Island Partners. Commercial Building and Development is a general contractor specializing in commercial construction and renovations and Harbor Island Partners provides Private Equity Funding. This pairing has given Commercial Realty a competitive edge because it allows a buyer to concentrate on their business at hand and not be tied down with finding separate real estate agents, builders and funding partners. Now with the launch of their new website, Commercial Realty has claimed their spot on the top of the Commercial Real Estate game in Southeastern North Carolina.

NeoNexus, the company’s website development choice, worked diligently to complete the website with the same high standards that Commercial Realty abides by. They were able to facilitate a buyer’s journey on the website by providing the most accurate and easy to use web page available. A potential buyer is able to research real estate opportunities, read about the company’s long and established history, as well as search through the company’s agent profiles, email questions or link to other useful websites that will help them in their business endeavor. And now, the new website will provide even more consumer satisfaction by providing instant updates on new available properties.

Wilmington, NC – The launch of Michael Banks’ new website, www.michaelbanksrealty.com, has been launched putting the spotlight first on community and service, and then on real estate listings. His commitment to service to his clients on all levels Banks’s real estate business focuses geographically on the Onslow County area including Jacksonville, Topsail and Camp Lejeune but does extend to surrounding areas such as Wilmington and Brunswick County. A native of the Onslow County region, Banks has made it his goal to draw attention to the region by highlighting the county’s beaches, outdoor activities and school systems, as well as the up and coming real estate market.

With 20+ years in the real estate industry, Michael Banks is more than a self proclaimed expert; he has prided himself on being an expert at making families feel at home while finding their new home. His website provides links to area school systems, activities, and beaches; making it a full service guide for anyone moving into the Onslow County region. Banks’ goals for the new site were “to have a site that would provide easy navigation. Home searches [would be] both specific as well as friendly, [and] to provide current information to potential sellers or buyers that would affect their decisions [such as] mortgage rates, insurance, management options for investors, education for first time home buyers, and any other tidbit of information – a one stop site for all your real estate needs.” The website does still provide listings of Banks’ homes for sale as well as a quick search guide to the MLS listings for all North Carolina areas.

As a Century 21 agent Banks previously had a small website, but enlisted the successful website design company, NeoNexus, to take him into the big leagues when the desire to expand presented itself. NeoNexus’ proven track record of web design, copy writing and SEO marketing made them the easy choice for the design and launch of Banks’ website. With the help of NeoNexus, Banks hopes to integrate more features into his web site and expand the “featured homes” section to include more real estate listings to accommodate every potential buyer.

Wilmington, NC – Elite Developers Inc. has just put the finishing touches on their new website; or should we say that their many satisfied customers have put the finishing touches on it for them? Over the past 23 years, Elite Developers Inc. has formed a base of repeat customers so satisfied with their work, that their many testimonials are the basis for an entire page of the company’s website dedicated to its accolades. The comments range from Elite’s timeliness to their accessibility, their pristine building standards, competitive pricing and even praising their subcontractors, a feat rarely achieved in the building world.

Although beginning in New York in 1984, Elite Developers, Inc. has been building custom residential homes in Southeastern North Carolina for the past 21 years. The company’s bread and butter is building custom homes; but their services also include home additions and outdoor living areas as well as building plan development. Elite’s President, Anthony Migliara had a vision for their website and wanted to include, among many things, a place for their many happy customers to voice their satisfaction with the personal service that they have experienced. “I think our web site is a great addition for our company. We will be able to display lots of upcoming and past projects so people from all over the globe can see what Elite Developers Inc has done in the past. Pictures, testimonials and past references are what make our company successful!”

No stranger to catering to a customer’s needs, website design and custom software specialists, NeoNexus Corporation took Migliara’s vision and turned it into a full service business tool where glowing testimonials only scratch the surface. The site tastefully boasts pictures of pools, patios, custom barbeques, outdoor kitchens, gazebos, fountains, barns and bathrooms –all with jaw dropping beauty.

The web design team wanted to showcase the company’s completed projects available for view but also wanted to emphasize the ease in which an interested potential customer could contact Elite and voice their specific needs. NeoNexus found a way to do this by creating an advanced customer contact form which allows the user to denote the nature of their interest in the company, as well as their building time frame, and involvement level. Project Manager Shawn Matthews commented that “The customers of a company that concentrates on custom building deserve custom care, right from the beginning.”

To see the extensive showcase of testimonials given to Elite Developers, Inc., as well as pictures of their projects please visit www.elitedevinc.com.

Well, last night I saw the new Star Trek movie.

The short review

Awesome…must see!

The full review

As a long time Star Trek fan, I knew it was going to be hard to be disappointed. However, Star Trek has had some flops (can you say Star Trek V?), so I was not expecting to be blown out of the water. I am happy to say the movie rocked!

I try to avoid opinions/reviews prior to movies; I prefer to be my own judge. By accident, I overheard a conversation this week at PT’s Grille where a group was complaining about a bad performance by the young Captain Kirk. After seeing the movie, I have to wonder what that PT’s lunch group was smoking when they said that. Chris Pine’s performance as Jim Kirk was extraordinary. As we are in the midst of a societal shift towards bigger government and rewarding incompetence and mediocrity, a character portraying a young leader cutting through beauracracy to excel (and save the world at the same time) is a refreshing and much needed change. We urgently need more people that don’t wait for someone else to save them and go deal with problems themselves.

Of course, looking at Chris Pine’s resume, that may have been what is annoying the current pop culture generation; he is basically unknown. And thank goodness for that! I refuse to watch any more Hollywood movies that have Brad Pitt and/or Angelina Jolie, the least talented yet most popular actor and actress I have ever seen. They deserve each other.

The young Dr. McCoy was spot on of the original Deforest Kelley version. A few lines almost sounded like voice overs from the original it was so accurate. I was rolling in the theater from his comments. I recognized the face of the actor, but didn’t connect that he was played by Karl Urban until the credits. That character was so different than his portrayals of the nemesis in Bourne Supremacy and Eomer in Lord of the Rings; yet all were well done. Karl Urban has a bright future with those acting talents. (He was also in the Chronicles of Riddick).

The young Spock, Checkov, Uhura, and Sulu all were well done. The Uhura love interest was surprising, but hey, why not? However, the crown jewel of the young characters was Scotty, played by Simon Pegg (whom I remember from the horror spoof, Shaun of the Dead). He was funnier even than the original Scotty. Of course, having some engineer geek in me, I have a soft spot. In one scene, after he transports several people at the last second from certain death, he says “I just transported three people from two different places all on to the same pad. That’s never been done before!”, but unfortunately, everyone wonders off not appreciating the full extent of Scotty’s wizardry. I can relate

Special effects were excellent. My only minor complaints were:

The phasers they were shooting were shooting energy bursts like a Star Wars Han Solo blaster. All of Star Trek’s phasers in the past were long streams of energy. Not that I am picky, but why the change?

What was up with the Romulan ship design? It looks nothing like a ship from any other Star Trek episode or movie I have ever seen. Cool, yes, but Romulan?

Hopefully, this movie signals the re-energizing of the Star Trek franchise. I would love to see a sequel with these same characters, and I like the big budget of the movies to the smaller budgets of the older weekly series.

Bottom line…Trek fan or not, go see the movie!
