The Valley Heritage Tour provides a fun filled trip into the past back to when Charleston first became a town. From the salt mines in Malden where a young Booker T. Washington got hi start, through the original Ruffner farm, and ending at the former Garnett High School, visitors can learn how Charleston, WV came to be town, why West Virginia parted ways with Virginia in the Civil War, and much of the African American history of the area. All of this while riding on Charleston’s old style trolley bus.
NeoNexus Designs, the graphic division of NeoNexus Corporation, was chosen to film the video and put together a promotional DVD about the tour. Look for it at the Commerce and Visitors Bureau. The video is filmed and produced by Ms. Abigail Pierce, NeoNexus’ film specialist, and one of our fine graphic artists.
The Valley Heritage Tour is put together by the West Virginia Center for African American Culture. Please contact their executive director, Anthony Kinzer, for information on tour dates. http://cacwv.org/
Following completion of the video, NeoNexus has been chosen to build a new website for cacwv…due to be complete in Jan 2007.
